His face has lit up, not just because of the topic but also because there's a chance he's finally found the poor cat who fled out of the warm barn and they can both go back to warmth.
"I know a great deal about cats," he says delightedly. "I'm Detlef, the stablemaster and vet. Where's the--" The cat yowls again, answering the question. Detlef nods and kneels down to see what's going on with the very cat he'd hoped to find.
"And what have you done to yourself?" he asks quietly. The cat's stuck and needs to be untangled. How observant is this stranger? Can Detlef risk it? He reaches in without using his Vice and promptly has to pull his hand back too.
