And the snow it was falling

WHO: Lorne, Lance and Deron
WHAT: Lorne comes to (re)introduce himself and join the Watch
WHEN: A few days after his arrival, so a few days after the major snow.
WHERE: The Constabulary
NOTES: None as yet, will add as needed

It's been a while since Lorne was home, and longer still since he actually lived in Northcliff Pass, but there are still familiar faces leading the Watch. He doesn't know Captain Lance nor Deron especially well, having had occasion for interaction when Lorne was younger and clerking for his father but not much in recent years. What he does know is that their dedication to the Watch and the town's safety is unlikely to have changed in the intervening time, and that's a quality in them both he finds easy to respect.

Not long after he arrives, the snowfall blankets the town and blocks the roads but the town is not so large that he can't make it from the Magistrate's house to the Constabulary in this weather. The captain is likely to be there at least, and there's not much point in Lorne delaying. He trudges through the snow mid-morning and does his best to shake snow off his cloak and stamp it off his boots before knocking.

Lance shakes his head, stepping back to beckon the boy in under the assumption that Deron will follow. He shuffles over to get tea started, quiet as ever but still with a gentle little smile on his face, glad for a surprise that doesn't require a shovel and the vicar.

"A good surprise," Deron chuckles. He'd offer Lorne a manly hug, but the bird on his shoulder screeches slightly and he thinks better of it. Instead, he waves Lorne inside and then ducks in himself. The bird is settled on a perch nearby to warm up; Deron will bring it upstairs and switch it out in time, but there's company to visit with, first.
